The NanoRAM Mid-Term Review Meeting took place on 30-31 May 2025 in Madrid, Spain. The meeting is organised between the NanoRAM partners and the EU Project Officer.

The meeting was opened with a welcome from the NanoRAM project coordinator Professor Mingdong Dong and an introduction from the Research Executive Agency (REA) Project Officer Dr Sarah-Amalia Aronzohn. This was followed by a tour-de-table introduction of the scientists-in-charge for each project partner and the doctoral candidates.

In the REA Project officer presentation, Dr Aronzohn reminded the consortium about the reporting, monitoring of project implementation and DCs rights & obligations. The purpose of the mid-term meeting is for the Project Officer to meet the consortium, to assess the recruitment process, remind beneficiaries and fellows about their rights and obligations, monitor and assess the project’s progress and to discuss potential issues, risks and contingency measures. Finally, the project timeline and in particular the project review at the end of reporting period 1 was discussed.

The coordinator’s report was presented by the project manager Lasse Hyldgaard Klausen. He presented the recruitment process, the current status of the project deliverables and milestones, the management structure of the consortium and the training activities. The NanoRAM training model is three-part, with in-depth research being performed by the individual DCs in their research projects, while network-wide training events create awareness of every step of the soft matter characterisation and manipulation and puts the individual project into context. Finally, DC secondments link the individual projects together and create synergy for the research outcome.

The doctoral candidates then presented their individual projects. The 12 recruited DCs presented themselves and their research progress so far, as well as their expectations for the future research, training and dissemination. This was followed by a meeting between the DCs and the project officer to discuss their experiences in the project so far, while the supervisors and associated partner representatives held a supervisory board meeting to discuss and plan future events.

The meeting was closed with a brief summary by Dr Aronzohn and the expectations for good continuation of the project.
